| Freddie ... Lead, 1st & 2nd Tenor | |
![]() | Mid-Life Crisis formed as an Acappella singing group in 1992 by 5 former classmates attending a class reunion of Bishop Neumann High School in South Philadelphia. The original group was formed in the mold of the doo-wop acappella groups of the 1950's and 1960's that sang on the street corners of Philly, New York, Detroit and other major cities throughout the country. |
| Dennis and Frank, two original members of the group, sang in the early to mid 1960's on the corners of South Philly. Sue, a music director at a Philly area high school, joined the group a couple of years after it formed. She's not only a great singer but an accomplished pianist. Sue sings at church weddings and other affairs and keeps the group "on key". Prior to joining Mid-Life Crisis, Freddie sang with "Streetcorner Five" and "Flashback", great Philly acappella groups and is unquestionably one of the best doo wop singers in the Philly area. Bobby, is a multifaceted entertainer who sings lead and background harmony, plays percussion, and is the group's frontman. | ![]() |
![]() | While the group still sings acappella, the "new improved" group has included keyboard, music tracks and percussion on many of their songs. While this makes their music easier to dance to, the focus is still on the group's signature musical styling, namely street corner group harmony with an emphasis on doo wop and R&B. The group is well known in the Philadelphia/Southern NJ/Delaware areas where they've performed with entertainment legends The Skyliners, Bobby Rydell, The 4 J's, Hearts of Stone, The Fabulous Grease Band and The Charlie Daniels Band. Mid Life Crisis is available for Doo wop and oldies shows, club engagements and private parties. |
